TIMBERSCOPE
Our Ethical Practices
Timberscope adheres to all local, state, and federal government policies and procedures in our operations. Our ethical approach includes:
- Foxes: We use soft jaw leg traps to minimise injury and discomfort while effectively managing fox populations. Additionally, we employ shooting and baiting techniques.
- Feral Cats: We utilise secure methods for humane capture and shooting to ensure quick and stress-free outcomes. Depending on the region and permits, we use legholds (outside of Victoria), cage traps, net traps, and shooting.
- Rabbits: Our methods include hutch trapping, Pindone baiting, shooting, as well as warren destruction and fumigation, all designed to control rabbit populations while minimising distress and protecting non-target species.
- Black and Brown Rats: We deploy rat cages and strategically placed baiting stations to manage rat populations while avoiding impacts on native wildlife and use owl-safe poisons to provide additional protection.
- Deer: When conducting shooting operations for feral deer we use thermal and/or night vision equipment including drones to support the operation.
- Other Feral Pests: For feral goats, pigs, and other invasive species, we apply a combination of thermal drones, shooting, trapping, and baiting techniques.
